Blondeblogger Privacy Policy
Last updated: 30-06-2025
Hi! I am glad you are visiting my blog. I am Lotte, the Blondeblogger, and I take your privacy as seriously as my quest for the perfect cappuccino. In this privacy statement, I will tell you exactly what data I collect, why, and what it means for you. No boring legal jargon, but still completely by the rules!
What data do I collect?
- Your name, email address, and username (if you sign up for the newsletter, create an account, or leave a comment).
- Your password (securely encrypted, never stored in readable form).
- Your IP address and some technical info about your browser (user-agent). This helps me keep the site secure and see how many people read my blog.
- Only for the newsletter: I only store what you provide. You will not receive sneaky ads, no spam, and I do not sell your data.
Cookies 🍪
I am not a fan of cookies, except when they come with coffee. My website only uses a technically necessary cookie, so you can browse without issues (this is a so-called "phpsession-cookie")
No tracking, no ads, no Google Analytics.
What do I do with your data?
- Newsletter:
Want to receive my adventures in your mailbox? I use your name and email address to send you the newsletter. You can unsubscribe at any time; after that, I will neatly delete your data. - Security & Statistics:
Why? Well, I want to protect my blog from spam and crazy robots. And secretly, I also like to see how many people visit my blog. But don't worry, I don't do anything exciting with it.
Brute force protection
To prevent malicious actors from easily logging into my admin area, I keep track of the number of login attempts. For this purpose, I temporarily log the IP address and the entered username when there is an attempt to log in. This helps me recognize misuse and prevent your account from being hacked.
I only use this data to detect suspicious activities and secure the website. They are never used for other purposes or shared with others.
Accounts
You can now create an account on Blondeblogger. Your name, email address, username, and password are stored. Your password is always securely encrypted (so never stored as readable text).
You can adjust your account details at any time or delete your account via your profile page.
Your data is never shared with others and is only used for creating and managing your account, and of course to give you access to fun extras on the blog.
Comments
You can leave a comment under my blogs. You can do this when you are logged in (then your comment appears under your account name), but also as a guest. If you leave a comment as a guest, I ask for your name and email address. Your email address is only visible to me and is never shown to other visitors.
Comments are stored along with the time they were posted and – if you are logged in – linked to your account. Guest comments are linked to the provided email address and name. You can always have your own comments deleted; just send an email for that!
Who do I share your data with?
With no one! I am the only one who has access to the data. Your info stays with me and is not shared with others.
Hosting: My website runs on the servers of Strato, so that everything runs smoothly technically. I have a processing agreement with them through their general terms and conditions, as the law requires.
Your rights
Do you want to know what data I have about you? Or do you want to adjust or have something deleted? Just send me an email via You always have the right to access, correction, deletion, and even the right to be a bit contrary (officially called: objection).
Page Views & Log Data
To see which pages are popular (and which are not), I keep track of when a page is viewed. In doing so, I temporarily store your IP address and some technical data (such as your browser and device). I only use this data for counting visitors, improving my blog, and preventing misuse.
These log data are kept for a maximum of 2 years and then deleted. They are not used to personally track or recognize you.
How long do I keep your data?
- Newsletter: Until you unsubscribe.
- Account details: Until you delete your account.
- Comments: As long as they remain on the website or until you delete them (or ask me to delete them).
- Log data (such as IP addresses for page views and brute force protection): A maximum of 2 years, after which they are deleted.
Security
I do my utmost to keep your data safe. Everything is protected with strong passwords and a secure https connection.
