The other half – Book update

I just came back from the most amazing vacation in Italy and honestly, it was so hot that the only things I could manage were lying on the beach, eating pizza, going for swims, and drinking Aperol Spritz all day, every day. Not the worst routine, right? By the time I finished my second holiday book though, I was tired of reading and thought okay, it’s time to get back to my book. (Still can’t believe I’m actually writing one, omg!). So let’s rewind a bit.

During my International Hospitality study I was such a bookworm. I read so much and kept wondering what it would be like to write my own story. I played around with ideas, different genres, but in the end I stuck with mystery/thriller with a sprinkle of romance of course. Since I have a twin sister, it inspired me to create a story about a twin who commits a murder and frames her sister for it. I wrote a few pages and luckily my teacher at the time was also a bookworm with writing experience, so he really helped me shape the start of the story.

Then life happened. After graduation, starting my new college year, dealing with some health stuff, and just figuring things out… writing ended up on the back burner. Also, I was kind of stuck on where the story should go next, which didn’t help.

But in Italy something just clicked. I had a breakthrough and realized this is really something I want to do. Not just finish the book, but maybe even turn it into a whole series. I feel so motivated to keep going, and even if no one ever reads it, I want to complete it for myself.
